7 mistakes to avoid when using Social Networks for your brand

Today I want to share some of the most common mistakes that companies make when designing a social media strategy.

The use of Social Networks has increased exponentially in recent years as companies are beginning to include them in their digital strategy. And it is important that you know what you should NOT do on the social networks of your business.

#1 Mix your personal life with your business.

It is important that you have your personal social networks and that of your business separately. Avoid posting personal content to your business accounts at all costs.

#2 Not having clear goals.

Without goals, it will be very difficult for you to grow in social networks. Always try to make your content based on objectives. If you want to learn how to effectively set your goals, I invite you to read our article What are SMART goals?

#3 Eliminate negative comments.

It’s something I’ve seen a lot of companies do. Hiding negative comments is a bad idea, the best thing you can do is respond with intelligence and maturity. Remember in social networks “EVERYTHING” adds up. A negative comment with imagination can become a great opportunity to gain the trust of your users and even become viral.

#4 Do not interact with users.

It is very bad practice not to respond to comments, remember that your audience follows you for the value you bring them, be it entertainment, coupons and discounts, and valuable information. When a user is encouraged to comment, it is because they require a response. And believe me, I’ve seen too many company accounts that ignore their followers. The best thing about social networks is that you can give an immediate response. Take advantage of them!

#5 Leave the network.

Publishing content should be one of your priorities as a brand. Remember that today social networks have become a source of information for brands. Users want to know about you and it is that according to studies it has been shown that people search on social networks when they want to know about a product/service of interest to them, so DO NOT give them a reason to distrust your brand.

#6 Saturate Social Media With Posts

Each social network has its rhythm and its audience. You must analyze your followers very well to include a personalized content strategy for your audience.

You must take into account that it is not good to saturate social networks with publications and that is why I will tell you the recommended number of publications per social network:

Facebook: No more than 2 Posts per day.

Instagram: 1 Post per day

Twitter: No more than 5 tweets per day.

LinkedIn: 1 post per day.

#7 Do not use tools to program your content.

There are countless tools to program content on your social networks.

However, Facebook helps us with this and has created a tool called “Creator Studio” which is a great tool to automate your content on Facebook and Instagram.

If you want to know how it works, we have already made an article where I explain how to use this tool. “How to schedule posts?”

Check it out, it’s so easy to use!

If you need to automate your LinkedIn and Twitter accounts, Postcron is a mega tool that we use to do it. But don’t get hooked on these options, the goal is for you to try all the tools and choose the one that best suits your needs.

I invite you to leave your doubts here in comments, we will gladly answer you.
